For Immediate Release - July 1, 2008
Indianapolis, Ind. – July 1, 2008 – ANGEL® Learning, recognized innovator of enterprise course management software and services, today announced that Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) in northwestern Virginia has adopted the ANGEL Learning Management Suite (LMS) to address the goals of its community-developed Comprehensive Plan. A leading district, FCPS embraces integrating technology with teaching and learning to provide students the tools they need to be productive in a 21st Century digital world.
“Today’s students think and learn differently,” says Rod Carnill, FCPS Instructional Technology Resource Specialist. “As educators, we’re addressing these differences by providing students the 21st Century tools they need in the safe, secure ANGEL environment. The ANGEL Learning Management Suite is easy for our teachers to use and provides collaboration and assessment capabilities that will engage students as well as measure their progress in real-time.”
“ANGEL Learning is pleased to welcome Frederick County Public Schools to the K-12 ANGEL community,” said Christopher Clapp, president and CEO, ANGEL Learning. “The deep insight FCPS has gained as a long time LMS user makes their selection of ANGEL as the best system for their needs especially meaningful. We look forward to building a long term relationship with FCPS as they implement the ANGEL LMS.”Frederick County Public Schools serves about 13,000 students in 18 schools and 3 learning centers. Committed to being responsible stewards of its resources, the district reviewed the FCPS Comprehensive Plan, developed in concert with parents, public officials, local business and citizens, and aligned the capabilities an LMS provides with plan goals before adopting the ANGEL LMS. The FCPS ANGEL adoption is live effective July 1, 2008. Teachers who actively used the district’s original LMS will be able to import their content to ANGEL. For teachers who will be incorporating an LMS into their classes for the first time, ANGEL’s ease of use will simplify integrating technology and instruction. A case study that provides additional detail on the FCPS ANGEL adoption is available on the ANGEL Learning website: http://www.angellearning.com/community/community_profiles.html
