Senior Technical Consultant

The Professional Services Team has an opening for a Senior Technical Consultant to work on our Microsoft-based web applications.

Under limited supervision, the Senior Technical Consultant will work independently on the design, development, and requirement gathering of customer driven solutions. Essential for this position are a thorough understanding of web development technologies and the software development life-cycle, as well as the ability to effectively interact with our customers to understand their requirements and needs. A Senior Technical Consultant is expected to help mentor and develop other team members and participate in the sales cycle by engaging in business requirement gathering sessions and providing proposals to ANGEL Learning customers.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and deliver customized solutions to ANGEL Learning customers.
• Documentation of the project requirements and final deliverables.
• Implement and unit test custom solutions.
• Interact with ANGEL Learning customers to make sure their needs and expectations are being met.
• Aid the development and support organizations in developing best practices and troubleshooting issues.
• Mentor and train other team members.
• Participate in the sales cycle as a technical resource.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• At least 5 years experience in the software engineering field.
• Experience building highly available and scalable web applications a plus.
• Experience working directly with customers a plus.
• Working knowledge of web development technologies (ASP.NET, ASP, IIS, DHTML, CSS, and JavaScript).
• Working knowledge of programming languages, especially C#.
• Working knowledge of database technologies, especially SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Knowledge of web services and XML a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop creative solutions.
